What we do..
We design and publish picture books for babies and toddlers with a focus on South Asian culture. Picture books ignite little minds, take them to a world of wonderful imagination.
My Divine Friends
Introducing our debut book, “My Divine Friends”. Simple, yet adorable, this title introduces infants and early toddlers to an important subset of Hindu Gods and Goddesses.

The board book, with its unforgettable, boldly colored illustrations and unique touch-and-feel textures, is perfect for tiny hands to explore.

About Us
Talegari Tales is a small venture that aims to expose infants, toddlers, and young children to South Indian experience, through original homespun tales.

While there is an abundance of children’s literature and a growing abundance of books about Indian culture, these two rarely intersect; our team of three aims combine these two into a visual and oral experience that is fun, engaging, and appropriate for babies and early readers.

Our venture takes as its name Talegari (TAA-le-gari), which is a dried palm leaf that was used as a manuscript in several parts of South India. Such manuscripts, dating back to the 15th century, survive today.

Most of the content of surviving Talegari manuscripts were written in either the Tamil or Sanskrit language.
